Public Release of the New ERCA Training Syllabus
We would like to raise everybody’s awareness to the public release of the revised version (July 2022) of the ERCA training syllabus. The full document is now publicly available. This syllabus provides information for training on permanent and temporary ropes courses. The syllabus describes course aims and objectives, content, methods of teaching, course duration, as well as assessment criteria. Mobile ropes courses are not covered within the current syllabus.

This meeting is for ERCA-certified Inspectors only and contains following parts.
Part 1 - 10:00-12:00: Structure, Future Development & Procedures (Craig Palmer, Nick Moriarty)
Part 2 - 13:00-16:00: Anchors & Mounting Points with certificate (HILTI AG, external)
This certificate workshop will focus on 'Adhesive Anchors' for heavy load mounting points in concrete structures. Solid as well as damaged concrete will be highlighted with best practices and hands-on practical parts. The expert is happy to answer your questions from the field.
Part 3 - 17:00-19:00: Inspecting Wire Ropes with a 'MRT'-Device (Zipline Europe, Tony Wallin)
In addition to the manual wire rope inspection, you will experience how long wires can be inspected with help of a 'Magnetic Rope Testing'-Device. It is planned to compare the findings between manual and automatic inspection. From that point opportunities and factors can be discussed. -
This hands-on session focus on damages and discard criteria for the webbing tape used in varying Free-Fall-Devices. It's less about actually assessing the webbing and more about identifying potential damage in order to be able to take the equipment out of service in time for a thorough inspection and maintenance.
