Shared Visions

Berlin/Duisburg (Germany), 20.03.2024 - After a year of intensive planning with a cross-association team, the German conference 'Shaping the Future - Shared perspectives in children and youth travel' took place from 12 - 14 March 2024 at the Wedau Sports School in Duisburg. The event was the result of tireless efforts and shared visions. And it was great to see everything come to life, from the selection of speakers to the organisation of the workshops and the entire schedule.
The two-day conference offered a series of presentations, workshops and discussion rounds on various topics relating to the children and youth travel industry. From current legal requirements and protection concepts to digitalisation, there was something interesting for every participant to discover. The workshops were informative and inspiring, and the interactive experiential education programmes offered the opportunity to learn new skills and develop innovative ideas.
The associations also came together to rethink association policy. The aim was to jointly formulate goals and demands for politicians in order to achieve appropriate appreciation and greater attention at a political level. Cross-association political strategies were initiated and joint political expectations were formulated.

Expanding the Network Together

One of the highlights of the event was undoubtedly the opportunity to get to know each other and exchange ideas at the informal get-together. Here, people were able to socialise, share experiences and find potential cooperation partners in a relaxed atmosphere. People from a wide variety of backgrounds and perspectives came together to share their passion for the children and youth travel industry.
Overall, everyone had plenty of opportunity to network and gain new knowledge. The generous time allocation allowed participants to exchange ideas together. Both during the official programme items and in informal meetings in the evening, there was a constant exchange about future trends, best practices and the challenging times in the industry.
