Public Release of the New ERCA Training Syllabus

We would like to raise everybody’s awareness to the public release of the revised version (July 2022) of the ERCA training syllabus. The full document is now publicly available. This syllabus provides information for training on permanent and temporary ropes courses. The syllabus describes course aims and objectives, content, methods of teaching, course duration, as well as assessment criteria. Mobile ropes courses are not covered within the current syllabus.

Description

This course is offered an run by Vertex Instructor Training Ltd..

As you know, your trainer certificate expires 3 years after the issue date. To prevent expiration you should renew your certificate with attendance in a 1-day CPD workshop.

This workshop will focus on:

  • Session 1: Results of your own comparisons between the 2017 and 2020 syllabus.
  • Session 2: Backing up novice belayers and teaching belaying (in a ropes course environment)
  • Session 3: Delivering training across a range of belay systems (e.g.: team bealying, individual belaying, direct belaying and non-device friction systems)
