Incident Log Reports - "Where are the Murphys?"
The aim of releasing an ''Incident Log Report'' is to disseminate up to date information which will help to avoid incidents and accidents on ropes courses. We named this section based on the principle of ''Murphy's law'', which states: "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong." Even in ropes course applications, we should anticipate what could go wrong or reflect what could have been the consequences of a near miss. This reflection may help to prevent incidents and accidents. Consequently, the ''incident log reports'' shall be shared for raising awareness.
''Incident Log Reports'' are not ERCA recommendations! We are committed to providing unbiased information about the sequence of events and potential causes. So the log may contain entries which are not new to the industry or which have been reported in previous versions already.
''Incident Log Reports'' are compiled from industry volunteers and not necessarily from proven specialists. We are neither in the position to, nor do we have the intention of, undertaking in-depth on-the-spot investigations. The collection was initially started in March 2017 as an addition to ERCA safety warnings.
